Ingredients for this Ricotta Dip with Honey

This whipped ricotta dip has a simple list of ingredients, a bunch which you may already have, and can also definitely be customized based on your favorite toppings and dippers!

    • Ricotta - Obviously the star of this recipe! If you love ricotta I think you'll naturally love this recipe, but if it's not typically your favorite, I definitely encourage you to give it a try still. It's so delicious whipped and pairs so well with a cracker or some sliced bread!
    • Parmesan - Adds a little saltiness and sharpness that pairs so well with the creamy ricotta.
    • Olive oil - Helps to make this dip extra smooth and adds some flavor that matches so well with the cheeses.
    • Honey - Adds the perfect hint of sweetness to round out the dip.
    • Garlic - Just 1 clove to add some extra flavor to this mild recipe.
    • Thyme - Some fresh thyme adds so much to this recipe, and I also love to sprinkle some extra on to finish the dip.
    • Grapes - Grapes and ricotta are such a nice combination, and some halved grapes on top of the finished dish not only pair so well but also make it extra pretty!
    • Honeycomb - So delicious to add on top of the grapes, but an extra drizzle of honey is also great.
    • Crackers, breadsticks, or sliced bread - One of the best parts of this recipe is that the dipper options are endless! Grab your favorite cracker, or toast up some sliced bread if that's what you prefer.

    Step by Step Instructions

In addition to only taking 10 minutes, there's really only 2 steps to making this dip, making it extra quick and easy!

STEP 1: Combine the dip ingredients. In a food processor, combine the ricotta, parmesan, olive oil, honey, garlic, thyme, salt, and a pinch of pepper. Pulse until smooth and creamy.

STEP 2: Plate and finish the dip. Spread the whipped ricotta into a serving bowl and drizzle with additional olive oil and honey, and top with halved grapes, honeycomb, and additional thyme, salt, and pepper. Serve immediately with crackers, breadsticks, or sliced bread.

Tips for Making this Whipped Ricotta Dip with Honey

    • I definitely recommend using whole milk ricotta, as it adds some extra creaminess and the best texture for this dip.
    • This dip is extra delicious topped with additional olive oil, honey, thyme, salt, and pepper! While it's so good on its own, since ricotta is pretty mild the additional toppings add the best flavor.
    • A food processor is key to ensuring the ricotta is perfectly whipped, and definitely changes the texture as opposed to just mixing everything in a bowl. If you don't have a food processor I think a blender would also work!

    FAQs

How do I make sure this whipped ricotta dip isn't too runny?
This recipe only calls for 1 tablespoon of olive oil to be combined with the ricotta, which ensures the dip itself does not end up too thin.

Can I leave out the parmesan in this recipe?
Yes, if you don't like parmesan or don't have it on hand you can definitely leave it out, I'd just recommend adding some additional salt to balance out the creaminess from the ricotta.

How do I make sure the ricotta doesn't end up grainy?
A food processor is best for ensuring the ricotta is whipped and smooth, but I also think a blender could be used if you don't have a food processor handy!

    Storing and Freezing

This whipped ricotta dip can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the fridge. I'd recommend adding any additional toppings once ready to serve, and also to stir the ricotta dip thoroughly before plating.

I don't recommend freezing this ricotta dip.
